Gambas Pil Pil The prawns pil pil (or prawns in garlic), are a dish popular in Spanish cuisine that is found mostly in the south and centre of Spain. The ingredients that make this dish are peeled prawns, garlic and olive oil. It is usually served as a ration in the bars. This dish forms part of the typical dishes of the bar culture in Spain and is so popular, that there are bars in Madrid that offer it as a main dish. Ingredients (for 5 or 6 people): - 40 fresh peeled prawns - 5 or 6 cloves of garlic - Parsley - Chili - Paprika - Virgin olive oil - Salt Preparation: - Chop the garlic, a little chilli (add more or less depending on your taste) add the parsley and mix it all together so that it is well combined. - In a clay casserole dish add olive oil until it covers the bottom. Put it on the hob, when the oil is warm, add the mixed ingredients. - Once all the ingredients start to brown, add the prawns and leave in the casserole dish for about three or four minutes. - Finally, sprinkle a teaspoon of paprika (mild or spicy) on top. It is served very hot, even boiling.
Gambas al Pil Pil Las gambas al pil pil (o gambas al ajillo), son un plato popular de la cocina española que suele encontrarse mayoritariamente en el sur y centro de España. Los ingredientes que componen este plato son gambas peladas, ajo y aceite de oliva. Se suele servir como ración en los bares. Este plato forma parte de los típicos platos de la cultura de los bares de España y es tan popular, que existen bares en Madrid que lo ofrecen como plato principal. Ingredientes (para 5 ó 6 personas): - Unas 40 gambas frescas y peladas - 5 o 6 dientes de ajo - Perejil - Guindilla - Pimentón - Aceite de oliva virgen - Sal Elaboración: - Pica el ajo, un poco de guindilla (añade más o menos dependiendo de tu gusto) y el perejil y machácalo todo junto para que quede bien mezclado. - En una cazuela de barro se añade aceite de oliva hasta cubrir el fondo. Se pone al fuego y, cuando el aceite esté caliente, se le añade la mezcla anterior. - Una vez todos los ingredientes estén dorados, se incorporan las gambas y se dejan en la cazuela durante unos tres o cuatro minutos. - Por último, se espolvorea una cucharadita de pimentón (picante o dulce) por encima. Se sirve muy caliente, incluso hirviendo.
