Einstein’s Chauffeur It is said that in the 1920s, when Albert Einstein was beginning to be known for his theory of relativity, he was frequently asked by universities to give lectures. As he did not like to drive even though his car was very comfortable to go to the lectures, he therefore decided to hire a chauffeur. After several days of travel, Einstein told the driver how boring it was to repeat the same thing over and over again. "If you want", said the chauffeur, "I can replace you for one night. I've heard your lecture so many times, that I can recite it word for word". Einstein took to the floor and before getting to the next venue they exchanged their clothes and Einstein got behind the wheel. They came to the room where the conference was going to be held and as none of the scholars present knew Einstein, the trick was not found out. The driver gave the lecture he had heard Einstein repeat so many times. At the end of the lecture, a professor in the audience asked him a question. The chauffeur had no idea what the answer could be, however he had a blow of inspiration and replied: "The question that you are asking me is so simple, I will let my driver, who is at the end of the room, answer it"

Поскольку никто из присутствующих лично не знал Эйнштейна, обман не был раскрыт. Водитель успешно повторил речь, которую он слышал много раз. А в конце один из присутствующих профессоров задал ему вопрос. Шофёр понятия не имел, как на него ответить, но не растерялся и сказал: "Ваш вопрос настолько прост, что я попрошу моего водителя, который находится здесь, в конце зала, на него ответить".
